Sandra Ayora is a visual artist based in Burlington whose practice explores painting as a space of intuition, materiality, and tension. Working with acrylics, modelling paste, iridescent mediums, and improvised tools, her process unfolds in layers and gestures that remain as frozen moments on the surface.
Her work moves between presences, atmospheres, and signs: bodies that defend or rest, climates that evoke ice or heat, and marks that suggest languages before writing. Each painting is both visceral and reflective, allowing matter and texture to speak on their own terms.
She has a background in industrial engineering, graphic and editorial design, and digital design, with studies across Colombia, Argentina, and Spain. Her artistic path has been further enriched through continuing studies in painting, abstract painting, and mixed media in Canada.
