Sandra Ayora is a visual artist based in Burlington whose practice explores abstraction as a somatic field of tension, structure, and displacement. Working primarily with acrylic and modelling paste, she constructs layered surfaces where accumulation and erosion operate simultaneously — pigment gathers into granular atmospheres while scraped passages reveal traces of action and resistance.
Her paintings often suggest unstable signs: intersecting diagonals and suspended forms that hover between symbol and gesture. Informed by her background in graphic and editorial design, her work balances structural clarity with material unpredictability, allowing gesture and composition to coexist in dynamic equilibrium.
Sandra has pursued studies in art and design in Colombia, Argentina, Spain, and Canada, where she continues to expand her painting practice through ongoing exploration of abstraction and material processes. She is a member of the Burlington Fine Arts Association (BFAA).
